Kevin McCullough's Town Hall column today states that Megyn Kelly, an elegant, outstanding, and diligent reporter has been attacked as a racist for her thorough coverage of the Department of Justice (DOJ) scandal regarding their blatantly racist policy and lack of prosecution of the New Black Panther Party voter intimidation case. McCullough's column does not specifically state who is attacking Kelly, which is a weakness in his story, however, if this is true, it should not be tolerated.
Our media has been overtly corrupt for years now. Perhaps it's an occupational hazard, perhaps a deliberate attempt to manipulate We the People, who certainly fell for it during the 2008 election. Some still complain that President Bush was given too much leeway and media support, particularly just post 9/11. And that was appropriate at the time, we were a nation under attack, and our President represented a strong, unifying figure. But when one looks at the cream puff treatment President Obama has been given during his first 18 months in office, not to mention during the campaign, it makes the mild Bush years look like Watergate coverage. No serious questions were asked of candidate Obama by the mainstream media while John McCain and Sarah Palin were racked over the coals daily. When one looks at the Pew Research statistics (link) the one-sidedness of the so-called mainstream media is glaring.
Now we see it happening again with the complete absence of coverage in the mainstream media of the Department of Justice, and Eric Holder in particular, scandal. And it IS a scandal. Every American, regardless of race, should be screaming in protest to what was done. Yet the majority of Americans don't even know it has happened because they limit their news sources to CNN and the New York Times.
Fox is repeatedly accused of being one-sided, but the fact is that it is even-handed in its reporting, but the lefty media is so biased it makes Fox's moderate coverage look right-leaning. Aside from Hannity (who is blatantly partisan), both the hard news reporters and even news commentators are fair. Yes, even O'Reilly. Yes, even Beck, who gives facts, figures, and legitimate history in his television broadcasts (I can't speak for his radio show).
We the People should demand honesty and thoroughness in news reporting not to mention complete discloser of this racist DOJ policy. We are certainly not getting it now.
Another article on this same subject .... imagine, if you will, Glenn Beck doing the things these thugs have done.
