For those of us who witnessed the moon walk in July of 1969, what has just happened to NASA and our space program is not only a tragedy, it is completely non-sensical. How can one possibly rationalize taking the most highly trained aerospace engineers and rocket scientists in the world and making their prime goal to make Muslims feel good about themselves and their scientific advances?
Can ANYONE explain this to me? Our scientists are supposed to give little self-esteem balloons to other countries while the current administration strips all space travel capability from the world's greatest space program?
And where is the liberal media expressing their outrage? For that matter, where is ANY media expressing their outrage?
Add to this the current plans to build a mosque at Ground Zero and have it's grand opening on 9/11. Talk about adding insult to injury. How can this be rationalized in any way except by deliberate insensitivity. Again, where is the media screaming bloody murder about this?
This is absolute insanity and our government and our media are pretending this is a perfectly acceptable use of our space program and Ground Zero. Not only does our Emperor-President have no clothes, it's looking more and more like he's either lost his mind or is now deliberately trying to cripple, insult, and beat down our country and lay is prostrate at the feet of Muslim leaders.
Vicki Pierce. How dare you generalize all Muslims in such a slanderous way. You clearly do not understand either radical Islam or the religion in general. Worst of all, you do not understand how Islam in general VIEWS radical Islam. This is the oldest surviving culture in the WORLD and you are spitting at it because a few wierdos came out of it. Come one Vicki. Every culture has radical wackjobs. Should we condemn Germany because of Hitler? What's more, there is not a mosque being built on ground zero. Of course, this mistake is understandable when Fox News is calling it the "Ground Zero Mosque Plans". As always I support your Free Speech and this blog, but this is not a positive, proactive, or helpful addition to our world. -Daniel.

ReplyDeleteDaniel .... on re-reading the post, you were right. I unfairly generalized all Muslim countries as being without modern conveniences and scientific advances. As my father lives in Turkey, a very modern Muslim nation, I know this is not the case. I've removed that part of my post.
ReplyDeleteThat said .... using NASA to promote international relations is inappropriate.
Additionally, the Mosque is proposed for three blocks from Ground Zero and to be opened on 9/11. Considering 3,000 people were murdered in the name of Allah, how is this not a deliberate slap at the victims of 9/11?
